Just lost my wallet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

October 28th, 2006 at 10:12 pm

I can't freaking believe it! On the way home from Wal-Mart I noticed that my wallet was not in my jacket pocket! To make a long story short...I lost it! This is the worst feeling in the world! Trying to remember what was in my wallet is giving me a monster headache. I am pretty sure I got everything reported lost. There is just an empty feeling in the pit of my stomach. Hopefully there are some good people out there that found the wallet and will either return it to the store where it was lost or mail it to me. I am not getting my hopes up though.

Yes...my SS card was in my wallet! I fugure that there are about 5 of me walking the streets right now.

Be hopeful, because there are good people out there. I lost my wallet in a Walmart parking lot (I left it on the top of my car of all places) and a woman saw it and immediately turned it in to the police substation across the street. When I went to pick it up it still had everything in it, including my bank card and around $45 in cash.

I lost a wallet evidently while climbing over a fence to get to a business just off the highway when my car broke down. I didn't realize I lost it until next time I set out to drive. Only lost a few dollars and my driver's license. But months later, my wallet was returned to me by mail with a note about where it was found. Money was gone, and I'd already replaced the license.

Im hoping for a good samaritan, but you are VERY WISE to go ahead and report everything lost. Was your social security card in it? did you have any checks in it? and have you mentally checked off any and all credit cards..

I sure hope it comes home safely!

Fingers are crossed that it turns up. My DH has an excellent return record - many wallets lost, all returned to him. One he had in his pocket when he went into the Atlantic Ocean - a few minutes, some guy came walking up the beach with it in his hand, calling his name. It had washed up down the shore. Just this summer, we got an old wallet back from a relative. DH had left it in a tent about 8 years ago - they just had gotten the tent out again this year and found it. I hope yours comes back to you too.

Yeah, what a terrible feeling it is indeed!

I lost my driver's license about a couple of months ago. I immediately went to get another one, but then found my original. Since then, I've thought long and hard about what to put in my wallet and whether or not it can be replaced easily.

Thus far, it includes my credit card (which has a small limit), my driver's license (which now I have a duplicate of), and my back up car keys (which I suppose could be a problem if someone knows which car it fits).

But for the most part, that's it. So, in the event that I should lose my wallet, I would immediately call to freeze my credit card account, and go home and get my other driver's license. As for the keys, well, worst case is that it's a ten year old car. Big Grin

I left my purse in a shopping card and drove home, then turned around and went back to the store. A good person found it and turned it in. I got her address and sent her a check for $100. I did not have much money in it, but a special pin that my father gave me right before he died. I carried it for good luck, but now I leave it home. I never carry me s/s number.

I know how stressful this can be. I agree with the others that it is good that you went ahead and reported everything ie: credti cards, license you might also want to let the credit reporting agencies know so they can flag your account if anyone tries to open any new accounts using your SS#. I know there are good people out there and will hope that it gets returned to you.
